i won the lottery

a few days ago i was like, wow, I’m the type of person you think would have a labubu dangling off their bag. I like cute stuff. I like thinking about culture and where people put their money and the fiction of little creatures, particularly creations that have something to do with being evil. you’d think, right? but i never had the slightest desire. if anything I just thought it was probably a waste of money, but in a way I’m not too judgey over because it’s avocado toast right. everything’s a waste of money but we’re all dying so it’s not gonna make a difference

and then my cousin sent me a picture in World’s Apart and it was a blind box series depicting character’s from Wu Cheng’en’s 1580 masterpiece Journey to the West, that classssic of chinese fiction that I wrote about earlier this year – and i was like, for fucks sake, here it is, the desire – the desire is in me. it’s by Baby Three, and the series is called Havoc in Heaven. and then we got paid for the paperback release and i was like, WELL, FINE and I –

and the lad behind the counter said he had two of them, and there was a swap available if i wasn’t happy, and i said i havent bought a blind box before i didnt know there was swaps, cool, cool, and I looked at the side and couldn’t tell which one I wanted. maybe pigsy?

i opened it and laughed

I got the bull demon, the BABY DEVIL, and the man behind the counter gasped when he saw it and said I wasn’t gonna want the swap then, and I checked it and the expression on it was off-putting, but the expression on mine was… yes.. cheeky

and i was in the taxi home and i realised the card looked so different, like

and i was like huh why does the illustration have plain brown eyes but mine is so…

magical. it has little clouds in its eyes huhhh

i googled it and found it on ebay with the boring eyes

god i feel so jammy hahahaha

I also feel like… evil confirmed. my friend text me the other day saying ive never not looked a little evil, and now we have this blind box luck, and there’s a bull demon on my shelf now.
